Acclaimed pianist, Irina Chukovskaya will work with two talented piano students.
Born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, Irina began her studies at the age of 6 in Central Music School at Tashkent Conservatory. She gave her first full recital at the age of thirteen.
In 1980, Ms. CHUKOVSKAYA gained recognition as a prizewinner in the Frederic Chopin International Piano Competition (under the name Irina Petrova).
Irina performed in many countries of Europe, Asia, Canada and the USA.
In 1989, she moved to the U.S., where she actively performed in the U.S. until 1997.
Her debut took place with the New Orleans Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Maxim Shostakovich and received critically acclaimed reviews.
She returned to Russia, where she embarked on a successful teaching career and sustained her performances.
Irina taught at the Moscow State Conservatory as an assistant to Professor Lev Naumov from 1999 to 2005.
From 2000 to 2019 she had her own class in Russian Gnesins Academy of Music. Irina was awarded the title of full professor in the 2014th.
She has been a visiting professor at Aichi University of the Arts since 2019.
Irina has released five CDs featuring works by Chopin, Schumann, Schubert, Shostakovich, and Kollontay. Irina has just finished recording a complete set of Chopin’s Mazurkas.
